🗳️ Elections & Podcast Appearances

Hello Reader,

I intended to send this email on Friday. 🗓️

That was the day the latest episode of Therapy for Your Money was released – and I'm the featured guest. And I was (slash am) excited about that.

But then, you know, the election happened. 🗳️

And being excited about a podcast episode felt a bit... oh, out of place, maybe tone deaf... or at least inauthentic.

Because I was NOT excited about the outcome of the election.

I had a lot of feelings about it – few (maybe none?) of them positive.

But in the last few days I've found myself shifting from a judgmental stance (How could this happen?! 😡) to a more curious stance (How could – or why – did this happen? 🤔)

Maybe I'll share more about that in coming weeks. TBD.

But despite the election – or perhaps, in part, because of it – navigating finances remains an essential activity that I want to help you with.

And so, without further ado... 🥁

Hi Reader, If you’re a practice owner (or self-employed in any way), I’m guessing this sounds familiar: “I don’t really have time for a conference.” “The money feels hard to justify.” “I’m not sure the ROI is actually there.” I have that same reaction all the time. Getting on a plane. ✈️ Staying in a hotel. 🏨 Stepping away from work that already feels endless. 😥 It almost never feels like the right time. And yet — some of the most meaningful insights I’ve had about my business never would...

Hello Reader, This time of year, one of the main things I’m doing with clients is reviewing last year’s numbers — and then making a rough estimate of income for the year ahead. And it’s a good reminder of something simple but important. When people think about financial planning, they often imagine sophisticated strategies, advanced investing knowledge, or financial “magic.” Some of that can help. But real progress starts with the basics. It starts with understanding your income. If you’re a...

Hello Reader, If you’re getting this email and thinking, “Wait… who is this person and why are they in my inbox?” — totally fair. You did actually sign up for my newsletter. It’s just been a really long time since I last sent one. (April of last year, to be exact.) Life got busy. Work got busy. I got distracted. And even though I genuinely like writing these emails, the longer I put it off, the bigger it became in my head. More expectations, more pressure… and more reasons not to hit send. At...
